PARTNERSHIPS

For professionals whose clients need finance

Accountants, advisers and other professionals who want a broker they can refer to without worrying about how it reflects on them.

HOW IT WORKS

A referral relationship that does not cost you your client

Professionals refer cautiously, and reasonably so. A referral that goes badly costs you more than it ever earned, and a referral partner who starts cross-selling their own services is worse than none at all.

Our arrangement is deliberately narrow. We handle the credit work, we keep you informed if you want to be, and we do not approach your client about anything outside lending.

Where a client needs advice we are not licensed to give — financial product advice, tax, legal — we send them back to you, or to a licensed adviser.

WHO WE WORK WITH

Referral relationships that tend to work

Accountants

Clients asking about borrowing capacity?

Self-employed clients whose structures make lending complicated, and business owners looking at commercial property or equipment finance.

Financial advisers

Strategy that depends on lending?

Where a client's plan involves debt structure, investment lending or SMSF borrowing, and the credit side has to be arranged properly to work.

Property professionals

Clients who need finance sorted?

Agents, buyers agents and conveyancers whose clients need pre-approval in place before a search or an exchange.

PRACTICALITIES

Questions professionals ask first

Will you approach my clients about other services?

No. We arrange the credit and that is the extent of it. If a client raises something outside lending, we refer them back to you.

This is the single most common concern professionals raise, and it is the easiest one for us to answer.

How are referral arrangements structured?

It depends on the relationship and on what your own licensing and professional obligations allow. Some professionals want no commercial arrangement at all; others prefer a formal one.

Whatever is agreed is documented, and where a client is affected by it, it is disclosed to them.

Will I be kept informed?

As much or as little as you want, and only with the client's consent. Some partners want a note at approval and settlement; others prefer no involvement once the introduction is made.

We will follow whatever you set.

What happens if you cannot help the client?

We tell them plainly, tell you if they have consented to that, and where possible explain what would need to change for it to become viable.

A referral that gets an honest answer quickly is better for your relationship with the client than one that drifts.
